INNOVATION DAY AT ORACLE ON WEDNESDAY 6 MAY 2026
The RLC Institution (RLCi) visited Oracle at Thames Valley Park, Reading on Wed 6 May 26. The event explored how Aerospace and Defence organisations can harness A1, data and people transformation to build resilient future-ready workforces. The day combined strategic insight, innovation experiences and collaborative discussion, tailored to leaders with military and defence backgrounds. Strategic objectives focussed on:
-
Understanding key people and technology trends shaping Aerospace and Defence
-
Exploring how A1 and Oracle platforms enable workforce intelligence and organisational agility
-
Sharing real-world lessons from change programmes in high-security environments

Our military guest speaker Major Sam Foster, DCOS 102 Operational Sustainment Brigade (OSB) , gave an overview on the transformation of 102 OSB to deliver combat-credible war fighting equipments and stores to military units on the battlefield. The new concept is to make supply operations more survivable, adaptable, effective and precise and with greater use of autonomous vehicles.

Oracle supported by guest speakers from Unna and Mevital gave a series of presentations on people talent, skills, digital disruption and workforce trends across the Aerospace and Defence sector. We had immersive demonstrations of Oracle AI, secure cloud and defence-relevant digital capabilities.
After a superb lunch we had a Collaborative Workshop addressing skills, leadership AI adoption and cultural change in defence organisation.
RLCi are very grateful to Oracle for sponsoring this event, and to all the guest speakers for sharing their insight into present and future AI, data and people transformation skills.
