The RLC Institution is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Crane MBE as our new Deputy Director
Richard brings with him a wealth of military and industry experience, together with an extensive network across the serving and retired RLC community, wider Defence, and our industry partners. His strong links across industry will bring significant value to the RLC Institution as we continue to strengthen our relationships, broaden our reach and develop the support we provide to the Corps. Richard’s initial focus will be on growing RLCi membership, while supporting the Director at the strategic level as the Institution continues to develop and grow. This will help ensure that the RLCi remains well placed to support Line of Operation 4 (LOO4) of the RLC Strategy to 2030.
Welcome to the team, Richard. We look forward to the experience, energy and connections you will bring to the RLCi.

Richard said:
I am pleased to share, that following a 43-year military career serving worldwide across a wide range of operational environments—and the honour of being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of my service—I have been selected to take up a new post within the Royal Logistic Corps Institution (RLCi).
My career has given me the privilege of working alongside exceptional people, adapting to diverse challenges and gaining experience that I now look forward to bringing to this next chapter. I am excited by the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the RLCi, strengthening collaboration between the Corps, industry and academia, and helping to promote innovation, professional excellence and the exchange of ideas.
I look forward to the challenges ahead, renewing established relationships and building new ones as we work together to support the future of military logistics.
