UNIPART SPONSORED RLC INSTITUTION VISIT TO JLR GPLC ON WEDNESDAY 29 APRIL 2026

In partnership with Unipart, they kindly invited the RLC Institution (RLCi) to visit Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Global Parts Logistic Centre (GLPC) at Mercia Park, Swadlincote on Wed 29 Apr 26.
The event was attended by RLCi corporate members along with a large contingent of Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) officers and soldiers.
The focus was on Supply Chain Resilience.  Unipart, Managing Director Jim Hartshorne and Giles Hartwright, Associate Partner IBM gave an overview on how Unipart are facing the challenges of the Global Logistics Supply Chain against the backdrop of these uncertain times

Unipart Business Director, Steve Clarke and Danny Swann, Head of International Supply Chain & logistics Performance JLR  briefed on the JLR Cyber-attack which took place during August and September 2025, and how their combined  Teams responded to the challenges it presented and how empowered decisions being taken in an unknown environment was key to a successful outcome.

These briefings were followed by a tour of Unit 2 warehouse; Unipart have brought 19 standalone warehouses under one roof.  The actual size and diversity and range of commodities was quite staggering whereby over 1.5 miles was covered during the tour!
This was an outstanding visit to JLR GPLC and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended.
